We’re going back to basics with my guest, Jen, on this episode. It seems our world has evolved into a virtual and social media driven environment. How we date these days, is almost always through some form of technology, whether it be via online dating or mutual friends on Facebook. Jen and I discuss the pros and cons of meeting people online and meeting people in real life settings.
Jen explains to us how she’s used apps such as Bumble to meet guys and shares her experiences with us. Her two sense on this is that social media is a great way to connect us not only as a more efficient way of communication, but also allowing us to connect with people across the globe, who we normally wouldn’t have access to. However, it also leads to less commitment and more so just feeding into the “hook-up” culture. While it can be a great tool, it can also be a difficult tool to navigate around in terms of developing a relationship.
Let me know what you think of social media and whether or not you think it benefits, hurts, or does a bit of both to our relationships.
